My Mystic Dreams

My mystic dreams began early in my life, but somewhere along my way, somehow, I had forgotten where I had come from...that the Earth's music came through my feet when I danced, through my voice when I sang, and through my stories when I spoke. I had to get back to my Irish-American roots on a farm in upstate New York and become whole again like I was as a child...back to a time in my memory of 4th of July's when the whole "clan" - cousins, aunts, uncles, my parents and brothers and me, gathered there for holiday picnics. Playing with my brothers and cousins, picking mint leaves, rolling around on the grass near the lake. Later as the sun began to set, all of us gathering around the campfire, some of us getting our sweaters because some of were getting a little chilly. Our fathers already warmed up with a few drinks under their belts, picked up their instruments and started playing and singing the traditional Irish songs. Dancing and singing to that music strongly influenced why I see melody and rhythm always working together...Music you can equally dance to as well as sing to.

About Myself and My Music

Mystic Dreams
My music is a little Roots, a little Gypsy, and a little Protest... No doubt that it came from my Irish father's side of the family. I love to be outdoors in nature where all kinds of magical things are occurring every minute. And, I do believe that the leprechauns must have come into being just so humans would never forget to dream, imagine, and be creative. I came from an era that thought it was on the verge of changing the course of history by transforming the world into a global community of peace. And despite the many disappointments since then, I still carry that torch. A lot of my songs are about the human condition originating from the lives of ordinary people like myself, and are embedded in the Irish roots of balancing struggle with the joy of music. My husband, Craig Smith, is the superb Guitarist on all of my recordings. One of my original songs ,"I Guess You're Everywhere", from my MYSTIC DREAMS album, is featured in the movie "Like It Or Not!"(Ob ihr wollt oder nicht!) The movie was released on April 30th, 2009 in Germany, where it was produced. It is on DVD in Germany and available for distribution elsewhere.

More About My Music

In my music, and my creative works I try to express thoughts and views on Nature, The Earth and Humanity: And, how important it is for people all around the world to use their talents and skills to help eliminate the discomfort and unrest that has emerged with social and environmental conditions and problems everywhere. It is in the hope that more individuals will interconnect with one another to create a network of understanding and awareness. Hopefully such a network of positive thoughts and works will contribute to a better life for all that exists on this planet.

Peace, Love and Understanding
